Kerala government has chosen to drop official Onam merriments thinking about the huge removal, loss of lives and property in the storm downpours.
Boss Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reported the choice after the week after week Cabinet meeting. "It would be terribly improper on our part to enjoy festivities when a huge number of our kindred creatures are enduring and we are looking for help from everybody to give aid to those have maintained overwhelming misfortunes," Mr. Vijayan said.
The Chief Minister said help was pouring in from different quarters, including the Central government, neighboring States, film artistes, representatives in government and private segment, conventional individuals, school kids and even transient laborers.
Performing artist Mohanlal gave over a check for ₹25 lakh to the Chief Minister toward the finish of the Cabinet preparation.
